Hunting

Ever since I could hold a BB gun, I wanted to hunt. Mom was a big supporter, often recalling times she went shooting or hunting with her dad. Here, you'll find stories about recent trips, great memorable past trips, and links to articles published elsewhere. Where appropriate, we'll note outfitters we've come to respect and some of the great gear that makes adventuring a little more comfortable, safe or successful. Good Hunting!

The barrel of my shotgun slightly rose and fell as my pulse and breathing quickened. I hadn’t yet killed three gobbler turkeys in my life and my excitement was palpable as I snugged against a tree in a mix of hollies, oaks and laurel.

I lucked into this motivated gobble...

It's interesting to introduce experienced hunters and shooters to a new, unfamiliar rifle and, after they inspect it, ask, "So what do you think this would cost?"

I did just that in South Africa in August 2015, showing guides and other hunters at Phillip Bronkhorst Saf...
